Calhoun Minks take on Etowah City Warriors Monday night in Etowah. Good luck to both teams!

Few parents imagine their child will grow up to do drugs, but drug abuse is a reality that continues to devastate communities across the U.S. Drugs are everywhere- in both big cities and small towns, and they are abused by people of all ages, races, and socioeconomic statuses.
Calhoun Elementary is working with ATS The Bridge to promote awareness of the dangers of using and abusing drugs. ATS The Bridge, a local nonprofit organization, will present to students in grades 4-7 during week of October 24 about the dangers of drug use and how choices and decisions could affect the rest of their lives. This presentation will include the risks of vaping and how to make good choices.
ATS The Bridge will talk to 8th grade students about the importance of making good choices and Fentanyl awareness.
Students in grades 4-8 will be challenged to look at the effects of drugs on their communities, their bodies, and their families, and students will learn about the social, emotional, and legal implications of drug use. We encourage you to have a conversation with your child about the effects of drugs on their hopes and dreams and how to stay safe and healthy.
